“The First Rule is there are No Rules. It’s Complicated But I Like It” was made in collaboration with Art Ambassadors, a group of students across the year groups at a local primary school, and Mrs French the teaching assistant. Through conversations and art making, the Art Ambassadors explored the role of rules, autonomy and hierarchies. The work’s title is a quote from Charlotte and an Art Ambassador taken from a conversation, as the students designed new activities during playtime and witnessed how different environments change behaviours

The presentation invites members of the public to contribute by adding and subverting the original rules, as the Art Ambassadors have played with the language of traditional gallery rules to create the artwork
